Biz Journal report on Greensboro College’s land deal with student condo developer Campus Crest leaves open the possibility that the J.C. Price School could be razed:

Whether Campus Crest intends to knock down or try to save the school building for some community use — and the impact on neighbors of whatever changes are in store — will have a lot to do with how the new owners are received, said Margaret Pinnix, who lives nearby and had wanted to see the Price campus used as a school for local children.

Looks like Campus Crest has a bit of a stumblebum reputation with complaints around the country “including poor construction quality, late payments to contractors and rowdy residents,” not to mention:

In one incident, a balcony at a Campus Crest complex in Denton, Texas, collapsed under the weight of three men during a party in 2011. According to news reports, the company said the balcony was designed to be decorative, not functional, even though there were doors leading out to it.

All I know is Campus Crest probably has no idea how passionate the Warnersville neighborhood is about that school.
