Notice that it never mentions that virtually no one remains at the minimum wage for long. Nor does it address the argument that by raising the cost of hiring low-skill labor, we will be pricing some of the least able people out of the job market. (The legal job market, anyway.)

And what can you possibly say about the notion that an increase of $2 might have had some deterimental effects, but at only $1, there won’t be any? Does the writer believe that there is some line (apparently known to him alone) below which employers are indifferent to labor costs?
