Fascinating! I’d like to find out how that decision came about.

We must not underestimate the power of free people to oppose the wrongs of statism. During the 1760s, the colonists repeatedly engaged in boycotts against British goods to protest the Crown’s taxation policies. Those who continued to patronize British goods were held up to scorn and ridicule in public. Why not do the same thing when it comes to firms that use eminent domain to get other people’s property on the cheap? I have a dream: Company X gets land via eminent domain only to find that no bank will lend money to it and confronts billboards, websites, and newspaper ads attacking it for accepting stolen property. After the bad publicity reaches fever pitch, Company X returns the land, apologizes, and pledges not to do that ever again.
