Why didn’t the elves, dwarves and hobbits ever ask themselves, “What have we done to make the Orcs so angry at us?” Why didn’t they try to negotiate an arms limitation treaty with Saruman? Why doesn’t the movie depict all the elves, dwarves and hobbits who were out protesting against their failure to use diplomacy?
Yes, it’s all a terrible lesson for Americans, glorifying war and “dissing” peaceful methods of conflict resolution.
