Interesting N&R front-page story today on Greensboro’s crowded DMV offices, which will remain crowded since Guilford County Commissioners spiked County Manager Brenda Jones Fox’s plan for the county to get into the business.

You know the way I think —the N&R is implying commissioners should have signed off on the plan, although I guess the article is stating a simple fact. But as one commenter pointed out—- and as the Rhino reported—- there are 39 other applicants for a DMV office in Guilford County, so common sense dictates that another contract could awarded.

Emphasis on common sense —– as the Rhino reports, DMV “is a highly regulated business with strict guidelines” As it should be, but one has to wonder if Guilford County would receive the same scrutiny.
