I love the way it is typical for people to “prove” that victimless crimes like prostitution actually have victims by pointing to other crimes that are committed primarily because of the fact that the activity in question is illegal. The law against the activity leads to crimes with victims being created and then those victims are attributed to the prohibited vice rather than the law. The line below from the article linked by Paul is a great example.
