Written in about six weeks between spells of alcohol abuse brought on by the death of her daughter, I must say Anne Rice’s “Interview With The Vampire” (2nd edition) has become dilapidated. The book had to be replaced and I was fortunate to find a first edition in a used bookstore. The novel that painted the romantic picture of New Orleans and inspired a song by Sting. Unfortunately, the movie thus inspired did not do justice to Rice’s writing. Lestat and the even the Mayfair Witches never quite captured that original magic. (2nd edition pictured)
