My latest Arizona State Alumni Magazine notes the appointment of a new head of the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education. So named for the wife of Ira Fulton who made millions building homes in Phoenix and a major contributor to the Goldwater Institute.
He gave the ASU college of education millions in order to have it named after his wife. When will these millionaire entrepreneurs learn? It would do less damage if they just burned their money.
In Ira Fulton’s case, he tried balance his gift to the college of education with an equally large grant to the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering.
