It’s been said that the definition of a faux pas in Washington is when a politician inadvertently blurts out the truth. Dingell has done exactly that. The truth is that Obamacare (and indeed Obama’s entire authoritarian agenda) is about control. He wants far more of it in the hands of politicians and their lackeys.
Recently a lot of lefty writers have been babbling away, purporting to find all sorts of base motives and personality disorders among those who do not want Obamacare. What they refuse to acknowledge is that we just don’t like government control and are horrified at the prospect of the one-way ratchet of increasing control that this legislation makes inevitable. That’s the point of this excellent Richmond Times-Dispatch piece.
