Yes!Weekly’s Jordan Green breaks the story; Guarino follows up;
the city offers few details.

I agree that Jordan Green has been doing excellent work lately. Still, I find it interesting that Green mentions Assistant Chief Ronald Rogers is part of the federal lawsuit that alleges that former Chief David Wray gathered “pictures of black officers of the Greensboro Police Department for the use of line-up books and other visual aids (…) for the purpose of framing, embarrassing and wrongfully investigating and charging black officers with crimes, offenses and violations of both law and police policies.”

We’re talking the infamous “black book,” the focal point of Wray’s racist plot against black police officers. And that’s exactly the way Yes!Weekly saw it, with Green going so far as to take on Jerry Bledsoe’s account in the Rhino.

I hope Green keeps digging into the police department. I can’t help but wonder if his earlier version of the truth might not hold up upon further examination.
