Since I’ve done enough cracking on public transportation, I was honestly going to take a pass on new software that will provide real-time information telling GTA riders when their bus will arrive.

But I couldn’t help but notice the strong reader reaction to the N&R write-up. Probably the best comment comes from Guilford County school board member Paul Daniels, a frequent commenter on N&R articles.

Daniels says “(w)hat if we simply had the buses run on time? Are folks waiting for buses really in such a hurry that they need to have this information at their fingertips?”

Exactly —if you’re in a hurry, you aren’t riding the bus, even if they run on time. And who isn’t in a hurry today?

The Greensboro City Council will consider adopting the new software at Tuesday’s meeting.
