Jon, I am grieved to have wasted seconds of my life reading that irresponsible garbage from Ruth Sheehan. “This case is about race because the slur-slinging” ? NO, this case is about whether a gang-rape took place.
Either there is a team full of dangerous predators out there or a couple of women willing to destroy four dozen men’s lives and who knows who else’s. Whichever of those two outcomes it is is what society needs to be protected against ? and race has no business being involved. Get the violent men or the lying women ? whichever proves to be the case ? off the street.
It is odious and gravely irresponsible for people entrusted with a public forum, as Sheehan is, to make this a racial issue. What is the purpose of that other than to divide the society, and to open wounds that fester for years and maybe even lead to greater wounds? This case needs an adult response, not more race-baiting trash.
