Amnesty Chief: ‘Gulag’ Not the Best Analogy

This could be the best W.D. moment of the current month, although it’s still early. Nevertheless, I can’t help thinking that Schulz probably thinks his error is not in making bug-eyed, flap-jawed comments tying Bush’s America to one of the previous century’s most unspeakably evil regimes, but instead was in accidentally reminding people of the horrors of the Soviet Union and its colossal, grisly failure to deliver on all those glorious promises of socialism. No self-respecting leftist today talks openly about the Gulag and Stalin.

I’m sure he meant to say “Auschwitz” instead…
