I understand and appreciate comments by Hal Young and Dr. Roy Cordato.
They are probably right on target about the ?leave me along coalition.?
However, the freedoms we enjoy today will not be here tomorrow unless
we have intelligent voters.  I go to counties in North Carolina
where more than 80 percent of adults cannot read above a 5th grade level ? but the vast majority are able to vote!

I am a strong advocate for parents to choose the education provider
best suited for their children?s needs ? whether public, private,
homeschool, virtual etc.  No one group can along elect General
Assembly members who will have the courage to stand up against the
entrenched education establishment! Our state desperately needs the
energy, intelligence, and the grassroots? lobby effort of everyone to
even begin to move against the powerful, status quo education monopoly.
We need voters who can read, and the vast majority of children attend
government schools. I will continue to plead with the homeschoolers,
and all citizens, to stay involved politically. But, who better knows
than a homeschool family how important education is to the future of
our state.
