A quick look at Dell’s laptops reveals that for a modest investment, those computer-less kids could have a computer. Modest I say because I’d wager many of those same kids have cell phone bills which top what the monthly finance charge a $600 or $700 laptop would total.
And note to Chatham edu-crats: There is nothing magical about an iBook and absolutely no way they can “help attract more growth.” Computers are tools, not talismans.
