Jon, I agree with Whoopi on the insensitivity of animated characters. From the misogyny of Fred Flinstone to the sexist behavior of Papa Smurf, I think this is an issue that must be addressed.
As for the Looney Tunes, I believe Bugs Bunny should make several formal apologies to the public. His constant dressing up like a women makes fun of transsexual rodents and other woodland creatures that have sexual identity issues.
What we really need is Sean Penn to discuss the travesties that were “Hong Kong Phooey” and “Johnny Quest.”
