At the risk of inviting the sort of label from a lefty website that is usually reserved for presidential candidates, I’ll say that some of my favorite movie music is from Singin’ in the Rain, Wizard of Oz, and Fiddler on the Roof.
Purple Rain has some terrific songs, too, including those from The Time.
The song Our Town from Cars is also among my favorites.
