I’d have to lean towards Coltrane simply because he spent much more time in NC, staying in the High Point-Greensboro area through high school before heading to Philly. Coltrane was a jazz man when he left NC, not so Monk.
And then if we slide a few miles East, to Wilmington, we find an entirely different genre represented.
It’s all good.
