Sowell has drawn a useful distinction between people who have a “constrained vision” and people who have an “unconstrained vision.” The former know that due to scarcity of time and resources, life is full of trade-offs. We can’t do everything and must make choices. The latter are people who forget that fact (at least when government action is concerned) and say things like, “If we can put a man on the moon, certainly we can….” The Obamaites are a tribe of unconstrained vision people.
