I have to disagree with Mitch that deadline pressure excuses an unfair story. Every story, including those done on deadline, needs the opposing view. Time was at AP when that was understood. But I’ve seen too many examples of news releases from lefty groups (usually agenda research) run completely without question or opposing comment by AP to think that rule still applies.

As for the story you cite, AP apparently felt that this portion of the story ? “A statement issued by the group said Hunter left because of
“differences in philosophy and vision.” Hunter said he was not asked to
leave.
? constituted getting the “other side of the story.” Sad, but that’s what AP has become. But it gets much worse.
