Jenna, I can’t answer the Greatest of Evaaar!!1 [Internet typing] question because I haven’t listened to enough to give a definitive answer. Of the albums mentioned here so far, my favorites were Aerosmith’s “Toys in the Attic” and “Rocks.”
I have, however, thanks to a pal in college, heard nigh on all of Pink Floyd, from “Ummagumma” to “Idawaninnymo” (OK, so I made the last album up). So I can answer definitively for myself that from those repeated listenings, the general output struck me as singularly depressing. Hence my off-the-cuff comment, though if you don’t agree with it, de gustibus non disputandum est.
