Our local officials on their economic development jaunt to Jacksonville, Fla., were awed by the city’s picturesque “river landing” – a collection of restaurants, shops, hotels, office parks, and sports arenas along the St. Johns River. While most of the afore mentioned are underway for development in Raleigh, there is no word yet on how we’re going to redirect the Neuse River.

Officials also heard from a Jacksonville ad exec who explained that although the streets were empty after dark, life is on the way. I’m sure the Jacksonville taxpayers are breathing a sigh of relief then.
