?Polling would seem to indicate that taxpayers approve of their money being given to politicians whose views they may vehemently disagree with.? See this report from Under the Dome when those polled were asked if “they would favor Council of State candidates whose campaigns are funded
by taxpayers over those candidates funded by the special interests
their offices oversee?”

Then read down to the comment section:

“….Is anyone going to explain to those polled that every dollar that goes
to the incumbent re-election fund is one that is not going to
education, health care, or job creation but still one that is coming
out of their pockets? I think you might get a different result if you
mix in a bit of the truth…”

Once taxpayers understand that their taxes are providing the money to be given to politicians to run campaigns, especially in light of a $4 billion budget shortfall, a nearly bankrupt state health plan and a failing education system, they should be outraged.? And this will be voted on by politicians who may very well be the politicians who will be getting the money to run for those offices in 2012!!
