Travis, I’m surprised you passed up an opportunity to point out that Brooks invokes the broken window fallacy when he says:
As people move in, the rebuilding effort could provide jobs for those able to work.
But what I think is really disturbing is that Brooks only believes that we should be “realistic about how much we can actually change human behavior” not that we should be wary of any government programs that rely on changing human behavior in the first place.
