So our visionary leader who is so deeply concerned about “the little guy” is happy to pander to Big Labor on tires. Low-income people who mostly purchased tires made in China will now have to pay more. Perhaps someone will decide to drive a little longer on worn tires because a set of new ones is unaffordable, and end up in an accident when his old tires skid on wet pavement. Never mind — the unions will be happy and continue to provide money and muscle for Obama’s great health care crusade.
Other Americans will be hurt in the inevitable retaliation against American exports. Again, tough. Obama owes Big Labor and the debt must be repaid.
