This is a stunning illustration of bad parenting. Not what the kids get at home — I mean bad in loco parentis at school. If the soft drinks are actively bad for kids, then don’t provide them, before school, during, or afterward. I’ve never seen a school without milk in the cafeteria and water fountains in the hall. If you think this is a great revenue stream, then why limit the cash flow to after-school hours, further burdening the taxpayers with lost income in the school-based marketplace? But for goodness sakes, pick one thing or the other.

Does anyone see a parallel between this mixed message and those exuding from other behavioral teachings in the government systems? Don’t do it, but since you’re going to anyway, at least do wrong responsibly?
