Michael, you’re right. According to this report at The Sentencing Project, felony cat abusers in Indiana would only be disenfranchised while in prison.
Now, if you blew away the cat in North Carolina, you couldn’t vote while on parole or probation either, assuming this red state is sensitive to the crime described.
And my incredulity remains if the felicide had occured in neighboring Kentucky, or six other states — though most of them are in banjo country and may not value cats the same way.
