Hey, guys, Clay Aiken did win the vote count on ?Idol? last year ? at least, the count of those who wanted to vote. He was robbed by some biased judges and suspiciously faulty phone technology, no doubt designed in Palm Beach County.
Seriously, for all practical purposes Clay was the 2003 winner. He’s the bigger star while Stoddard has proven to be a hard personality to market. Similarly, as Drew suggests, I predict that Fantasia Barrino will be the winner in 2004 regardless of what the vote count is, as she is clearly the most bankable and interesting performer of the bunch (though I do think LaToya London has a future, too).
