I agree 99% will Bill’s post about the consequences of losing (or winning) at soccer in a liberal democracy vs. a dictatorship.
However, there’s one small inaccuracy: in spite of his tendency to score goals, Landon Donovan is a midfielder, not a forward. (As is Clint Dempsey–another frequent goal-scorer for the U.S.)
