I figure an honest rank of the joys of child care should be about .01, as no one could possibly enjoy having 37 aneurysms a day. But parents like to sucker the childless into the unwinnable game too, hence the big cover-up. I think it is genetic, keeps the species going.

Seriously, you cannot possibly compensate strangers enough to take good care of your children. I’d demand about $1000 a day to care for some kids I’ve run into, and $10,000 per day for certain distant relatives. This is why the refrain for “decent, affordable child-care” makes no sense.
