As you’ve probably gathered, I seldom agree with the Winston-Salem Journal’s editorial page. But I believe in miracles, and they happen all the time.

Today’s Journal weighs in on the story Carolina Journal broke last week on Winston-Salem State University professors using university e-mail asking family members to support the federal DREAM Act. The Journal says WSSU “should firmly discipline two of its professors who hadn’t learned yet — despite a similar problem at the school recently — that certain kinds of political e-mails aren’t allowed.”

Meanwhile, another Journal editorial says the City of Winston-Salem should tell Wake Forest to take a hike when it comes asking for incentives to make room for the expanded Pepsi call center at University Corporate Center.

I’ll believe that when I see it —Mayor Allen Joines is trying to say that “the city always anticipated being involved in the relocations,” and the council rarely bucks the mayor.
