I would just love to hear an explanation as to why the compensation for any business executive is the concern of any government official, much less the Treasurer of the State of North Carolina. In the almost inconceivable event that some state law may have been violated (I say “almost” because the law now covers such a wide swath of our lives that you shouldn’t rule the possibility out), why is the Treasurer talking about it, rather than the AG?

All right, we all know the real explanation, though. This has nothing to do with the law. Moore simply wants to build his reputation as a “friend of the little guy” with nonsensical posturing on the minimum wage, CEO pay and anything else that appeals to the envy of people who don’t understand how the world works.
