The big national teacher unions are dutifully calling for a boycott of Wal-Mart. Their reasons are very silly, but in principle, people have a right to withhold their money from institutions they don’t like, no matter what the reason.
Alas, when people don’t want to have their children taught in “public schools,” the unions want to make sure that they pay for the schools, teachers, and administrators anyway.
Boycott of Wal-Mart good; boycott of government schools not allowed.
