WRAL—-via Right Angles—-reports the Westboro Baptist Church will stage a protest at Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral.
I did not know Mrs. Edwards or her husband personally, but their ambition dictated that they lead very public lives, which leaves you open to criticism from the public at large. Based on their public lives, I determined that I agreed with almost nothing the Edwards stood for, and I believe the country is better off –though not much better off —-because they did not achieve their ultimate goal.
That said, I have no idea what Westboro’s motives are, and they give a bad name to people of faith who may have disagreed with Ms. Edwards yet pray for her peaceful passing.
