Amazing how the Program Evaluation Division of the legislature’s $169,900 study from the Evergreen Solutions, cited our state’s K-12 education system void of solid leadership.  The report makes it SO convenient for Perdue to give a ?pink slip? to Atkinson. However, since Atkinson is elected there can be no ?pink slip? –

As Terry pointed out: Perdue just slammed her by using the word ?Ambassador.?  June Atkinson is used to being ignored and slammed. Several years ago the State Board hired J.B. Buxton (who ran against her in 2004) to run the department.  Which again proved the Superintendent?s position was simply symbolism over substance.

Remember, Atkinson has been in the ?system? for over 30 years – teacher, administrator, and as the state?s director of instructional services.  The ?new? education leader William Harrison has been around NC education his whole career. Nothing is really new!
