Terry, interesting to find out I too must be stupid and emotional! Thanks for writing a ?user? friendly guide not only for the Wake situation, but also for citizens and policy makers across the state focusing on school construction.
Congratulations to all of those “stupid and emotional” folks in Wake County who can think for themselves and hold the education policy makers accountable for being efficient and effective. The poll taken regarding the bond shows what happened in Mecklenburg County most likely will happen in Wake County!  Not passing bonds forces the GOMs (Gatekeepers of Mediocrity) to think differently.  The arrogance of the education establishment makes it the ONLY WAY to get their attention. I know, I live in Mecklenburg, and a former school board member!
Camden County found an alternative to passing bonds for building schools. While not all counties can take advantage of this particular type of grant funding, it shows some systems are thinking differently!
It can be done! It must be done!
