I lost electrical power in the violent weather that came through the area last night, and let me tell you, I didn’t feel like I was doing anything good for myself, my neighbors or the planet. It was muggy and dark and d_mned uncomfortable, carbon-thriftyness notwithstanding.

For those of you sick to the max of the constant drumming for further command-and-control of our economy, and the crappola on how to ‘fix’ the market in general, please read this opinion piece from today’s Wall Street Journal. It’s an unapologetic breath of fresh air from the industry, and a sensible attempt to clear the toxic fumes created by what appears to be a guilt-centered strategy for energy use coming from the political wind turbines.

A hundred years ago, no one would have thought of progress as ‘turning off the lights.’ They would have been thought bonkers, and correctly so, because energy markets were seen as the door to future prospertiy, well-being, and opportunity for everyone, not the next stop on the train to American socialism. Yeah, it’s good to be cool, safe, and well-lit on a dark and stormy evening.
