When Carolina Journal Associate Editor David Bass devoted his latest American Spectator column to the propensity among members of Generation Y — or “Generation Why?” — to blame capitalism for their economic woes, the Real Clear Politics website took notice. On a similar theme, Bass wrote a CJ article detailing the price Raleigh taxpayers are paying to protect Occupy Raleigh protesters outside the State Capitol. Watchdog.org and N.C. Senate Republicans promoted that article, and Bass discussed his work during an appearance with Rick and Donna Martinez on WPTF Radio. In other CJ developments, Associate Editor Sara Burrows‘ report on regulations blocking a proposed food-truck ministry in Rowan County prompted a follow-up story from WBTV. The Lincoln Tribune and N.C. Senate Republicans promoted contributor Dan Way‘s article on the potential partial privatization of the N.C. Zoological Park in Asheboro. Senate Republicans also highlighted contributor Karen Welsh‘s report on an arts-intensive public charter school in Winston-Salem.
