Finally! Something!

CMS is getting rid of junk food. Hooray! I’m dead serious.

Nothing is more harmful to education, especially in the early grades, than poor nutrition. Not hunger, but empty, useless calories.

Fill kids up with sugar — and not just sugar, but that horrid, horrid high-fructose corn syrup crap, a direct product of federal subsidies for corn growers — and you are virtually guaranteed to get poor attention spans and bad behavior. Garbage in, garbage out.

Stuff the same kids with lean protein, real fruits, and veggies and you’ll be amazed at the results.

Let’s see if CMS can implement this change without it costing an arm and leg. That seems to be the working CMS mode. “Well, we could change to something better, but it is gonna cost ya.”
