Every time I hear libs talk about poverty in America I think of my then-6-year-old son who asked one day afer getting home from school, “Daddy, why do all the poor kids have HBO?”
To people who play fast and loose with the word poverty, I suggest they read “Angela’s Ashes” or, for a more recent treatment, go see the movie “Cinderella Man.” Compare those examples with the families to whom poverty means basic cable.
