There are really bad ideas looming on many fronts and in this WSJ piece today, Roger Clegg discusses several labor market ideas that would substitute federal coercion for voluntary agreements. One of those bad ideas is “comparable worth” legislation, which has the support of both Clinton and Obama.

Roger writes, “There are many in Congress whose every instinct is for the central government to intervene in the market whenever a decision offends their personal sense of ‘fairness.'” Quite so, and that’s why freedom is dying the death of a thousand cuts in this country.
