When the Pope Center announced the results of the report it commissioned from
the American Council of Trustees and Alumni about UNC governance,
numerous stories were generated in newspapers and on radio and TV. This
week the media attention continued when the online Daily Tar Heel
covered the issue and turned to Jon Sanders for comment. The study
recommends two key reforms. First, that the governor, not the General
Assembly, appoint the Board of Governors. Second, that the number of
members be reduced from 32 to 15.
Reforming UNC Governance
