Readers of the Fayetteville Observer learned this week about North Carolina’s latest success with regulatory reform. John Locke Foundation Director of Regulatory Studies Jon Sanders wrote a column outlining the benefits of new rules designed to limit the negative impact of regulatory overreach.

The N.C. Spin website promoted Sanders’ “Locker Room” blog entry on the problems associated with proposals to raise the government-mandated minimum wage, along with Director of Research and Education Studies Terry Stoops‘ observations about North Carolina school funding under Democratic state government administrations.

The News & Observer interviewed Stoops for an article about the potential impact of increased school choice options on Wake County’s upcoming school bond referendum. NCPoliticalNews.com promoted Stoops’ research newsletter on spin
surrounding the release of new North Carolina public school test scores. Stoops discussed new homeschooling data during an appearance on Talk Radio WPTF. The Daily Haymaker quoted Stoops and N.C. Education Alliance Director Lindalyn Kakadelis in an article about Common Core public school standards. Kakadelis offered an overview of Common Core during a presentation in Brasstown for the Cherokee and Clay County 9-12 Project.

The News & Observer quoted Health and Human Services Policy Analyst Katherine Restrepo in an article about increased scrutiny for so-called “navigators” associated with the federal health care law. Restrepo and Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray discussed the North Carolina impact of Obamacare and Medicaid reform during public presentations in Wilmington and Raleigh. Gray previewed next week’s presentation in Asheville during a conversation with Pete Kaliner on WWNC Radio. Gray continues twice-weekly state government updates for WTSB Radio.
