The folks at the Center for Responsive Politics and Public Citizen note that financial sector lobbyists are hip deep in the financial reform legislation now gone to conference on Capitol Hill. As they put it, “The 43 House and Senate members negotiating final Wall Street reform legislation will be lobbied by 56 of their former staffers.”

Among the symbiotes, Rep. Mel Watt and his former chief of staff Joyce Brayboy. Brayboy now works for Goldman Sachs and is one of seven former CoS lobbying their former bosses on the bill.
