Just heard the great news that H298, the bill to dramatically scale back North Carolina’s green energy mandate has passed the House Commerce Committee. This is great news. It looks like for the most part the committee didn’t buy the pitiful economic analysis paid for by the renewable energy industry which claimed that 10s of thousands of jobs have been “created or retained” as a result of all this green corporate welfare. See here and here. Kudos to Rep. Hager, the primary sponsor of the legislation. One committee down, three more to go and then on to the full house. The powers that manage the process are not making it easy.
