Allan Sloan‘s latest Fortune column urges American corporations to reveal more details about their tax returns. The print version of the article carries the headline “Big corporations need to show us how much they pay in taxes.”

Regardless of the merits or demerits of Sloan’s arguments about corporate transparency, I’m sure Roy Cordato would take issue with the headline.

Why? Roy reminded us in his latest Spotlight report that corporations don’t pay taxes. Shareholders, workers, and customers do.
