The speaker of the California Assembly has decided that voters going about their constitutional freedoms to support or oppose candidates depending upon their actions is terrorism:
The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: “You vote for revenue and your career is over.” I don’t know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it’s about free speech, but it’s extremely unfair.
Don’t think this is just a misguided statement by a misguided legislator. This meme has popped up repeatedly in recent weeks, beginning with the Homeland Security alert labeling veterans as possible right-wing extremists. The left is doing everything it can to make what’s normal seem outrageous, then they will move to outlaw it. That’s the way totalitarians roll.
