Chad Adams‘ decision to take a leave of absence from the John Locke Foundation to pursue the chairmanship of the N.C. Republican Party generated plenty of media attention this week. The News & Observer‘s “Under the Dome” column mentioned Adams’ plans online and in print, Adams’ home-county Sanford Herald offered a bulletin before publishing a full story, and the Associated Press distributed a report across the state (with publication in newspapers including Elizabeth City’s Daily Advance and the Rocky Mount Telegram) and even outside North Carolina. A television interview with WWAY’s “Carolina Talk” not only earned Adams publicity; it also featured a paean from host Curtis Wright about the value of the John Locke Foundation’s “vital” contributions to public policy debates. Speaking of those contributions, the latest By The Numbers report from Adams’ Center for Local Innovation continued to attract media attention this week. The Fayetteville Observer highlighted the report in its weekly “Inside Politics column,” and the McDowell News discussed the report as well.
