As local governments across Wake County consider a proposed transit plan, the John Locke Foundation is sharing its concerns. Michael Sanera, Director of Research and Local Government Studies, discussed JLF’s review of the Wake transit plan during a public presentation this week to the Apex Town Council. The Raleigh Public Record also highlighted JLF’s transit concerns. Terry Stoops, Director of Education Studies, participated in a discussion of the media and education policy for the N.C. Public School Forum’s Education Policy Fellowship Program. The Heritage Foundation’s “Insider Online” recently promoted Stoops’ research comparing North Carolina’s public school students’ performance with the performance of students in economic competitors around the globe. Roy Cordato, Vice President for Research, discussed both Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney’s stance on the minimum wage and the absence of global warming in North Carolina during his most recent appearance with Chad Adams on the WLTT Radio morning program. The Mooresville Tribune published a column from Fergus Hodgson, Director of Fiscal Policy Studies, on North Carolina’s $2.7 billion unemployment debt. La Conexion published a Spanish-language version of that column. Hodgson discussed “Finding the Philosophy of Liberty in America” in a presentation to the Triangle Liberty Meetup group. Fox News Latino published a commentary in which Hodgson advocated a more open immigration policy. Russia Today interviewed Hodgson this week about developments in Syria.
