In addition to their candidate briefings, John Locke Foundation researchers have been busy with other work. Roy Cordato discussed energy policy during his latest appearance with Chad Adams on WLTT Radio’s morning program. Cordato reviewed the book Climate Coup for the Independent Institute’s Independent Review. A Durham Herald-Sun editorial cited Terry Stoops’ research about local school spending data. Fergus Hodgson’s recent column on raw milk legalization attracted attention from OpenMarket.org. He converted the column into Spanish for La Conexion. Michael Sanera participated in a Heartland Institute podcast devoted to the dispute over Salisbury’s municipal broadband system. A News & Observer letter writer critiqued a recent JLF review of the Wake County transit plan. A Waynesville Mountaineer article about a new local one-stop senior center referenced JLF research into long-term care costs. (A policy report released by the John Locke Foundation shows North Carolina will face insurmountable budget problems from costs associated with retiring baby boomers and the need for long-term care if changes aren’t made in the state’s policies.)
